1/2 chopped onion 2 cloves garlic, crushed 2 stalks celery, chopped 1 carrot, grated 2 tablespoons oil or butter 1/2 teaspoon turmeric 3/4 pint water 2 to 6 tablespoons Lewis Labs Brewer's Yeast™ Flakes Salt and pepper to taste |
Sauté the onion, garlic, celery and carrot in the oil until the onion is transparent, add turmeric and stir in the water. Simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Stir in Lewis Labs Brewer's Yeast™ Flakes and seasoning to taste. Add pat of butter to each bowl before serving or serve with "double dumplings" (see recipe). Makes approximately 3/4 pint.
